Design sells.

Michael Graves Tea KettleDesign sells. Just ask Michael Graves or Steve Jobs. Both have built their success by using design to their best advantage. Think about the last time you made a purchase. If you had a choice between two products with the same basic purpose, features and price, you probably bought the one that looked better, right? That’s the power of design at work.

Design by itself isn’t enough to sell an inferior product or create a market where there’s not one, but it certainly can influence a decision between two choices that are essentially the same otherwise. And often, people will pay substantially more for something just because it looks cool. So isn’t it worth it to consider how the design of your marketing materials and your brand is working (or not working) for your business?
